ShopSense ("we", "us", or "our") respects the privacy of merchants and their customers. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information in connection with our Shopify application.
Merchant data: Store name, email, domain, and billing information via Shopify. Product data: titles, descriptions, prices, images, and tags to power AI recommendations.
Customer interaction data: Chat messages sent by storefront visitors, session identifiers, product click and add-to-cart events, and AI-generated responses. We also derive sentiment scores and purchase intent signals from chat messages.
We do not collect personal information such as names, emails, or payment details from storefront visitors. Chat sessions are identified by anonymous session IDs only.
We use the information we collect to: provide AI-powered product recommendations to storefront visitors; generate text embeddings for your product catalog; analyze customer sentiment and purchase intent; display analytics and conversion data in the merchant dashboard; process billing via Shopify; and improve our service.
We share data with the following providers to deliver our service: OpenAI (chat responses and text embeddings), Pinecone (product vector storage and similarity search), and Shopify (billing and store data). We do not sell personal data to third parties.
We retain merchant and product data for as long as the app is installed. Chat messages and sentiment data are retained to power analytics. Upon uninstallation, all data is deleted within 30 days. You may request immediate deletion at any time.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. You may request a copy of all data we hold, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion of your account and all associated data. We comply with GDPR and Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks for data requests, erasure, and portability.
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure database access, and input sanitization including prompt injection detection on all chat inputs.
